(Book Jan/Feb 2023)
Most Christians believe that after they die, they will be in a long sleep, and one day they will be risen and will have eternal life. They will meet their family members and friends if they also were Christians before they died. There also will be judgement for punishment and awards.
It is believed that afterlife is much better than this life. However, when one is actually facing death, the person himself and those around him are likely difficult to say goodbye as no one really knows what it is like after death. Some may share his or her near death experience, and yet their personal experience is not really life after death.
The author does not focus on his own cancer story, but rather explains that remembering our mortality and learning to die well will lead to a more profound view of Christian resurrection hope.
